How to get to Gibraltar
Gibraltar Airport
Gibraltar has its own airport with regular flights each day from the UK. Visitors from other countries may prefer to fly to Malaga, Seville or Jerez instead—see below, for more details.
Gibraltar airport is small, and even with the new terminal that is due to open in summer 2011, it is still reminiscent of what air travel used to be like. You still exit the plane via aircraft passenger steps, straight onto the terminal tarmac, where the warmth of the Mediterranean will hit you, helping to confirm that your adventure has just begun.
Clearing customs and collecting your luggage is a quick and easy process. It’s now time to experience one of the many weird and wonderful aspects of Gibraltar—walking across the airport runway on your way to Marina Bay. Don’t worry, they only open the road that traverses the runway when there are no flights.
Arrival
Classroom courses, and courses that don’t include accommodation start at 0930. We are open from 0900, so please arrive at our office in time for the start of your course.
Where a course lasts a week or longer, we usually make a relaxed and informal start on Sunday evening. The courses start on Monday morning, with the first Sunday evening being a great opportunity to get to know one another. Many of our clients choose to take a meal ashore with all the crews and skippers.
The facilities at our base next to the marina in Gibraltar will be at your disposal when you arrive. You are welcome to leave your luggage there, leaving you free to explore. We will take you to your yacht at about 1800, but don’t worry if you arrive later than that as we will always ensure that someone is available to meet you.

Malaga Options
There are so many flights into Malaga that it would be impossible to list then and keep up-to-date with times. Skyscanner is a good option to check all possible routes.
Malaga airport is about 120km from Gibraltar. A taxi will cost around 140 Euros or private transfers are available for 80 Euros. One way car hire is usually more cost effective and will save on car parking charges.

- Cross the runway, along Winston Churchill Avenue, past the Gibraltar Cradle of History monument. You will see white Mediterranean style buildings to your right as you cross the runway—this is where you are heading.
- Turn right onto Bayside Road at the roundabout with a sundial on it, just after the Cross of Sacrifice Memorial.
- Walk past Victoria Stadium sports centre, and follow the road as it bears to the left. You will pass a car park, and then just before the BMW car garage turn right down the pedestrian walkway.
- Walk passed Dolphin Safari and the sandwich shop, and then turn right.
- We are just after the launderette. We have photos of yachts all over the windows.
All our yachts are berthed on the waterfront in front of Charlie’s Bar and Restaurant.
