Charters for Families

Why choose an Allabroad charter?

  • Children are welcome, making it ideal for families
  • Receive as much or as little tuition as you like

In safe hands

You will be looked after by one of our highly qualified RYA recognised instructors, who will provide your choice of formal or informal instruction. You will have the opportunity to explore Morocco, Spain and Gibraltar, with tuition and sailing tailored to meet your needs. Our friendly instructors will teach new skills, and provide a safe, enjoyable visit; they will also be your personal guide to Gibraltar and the surrounding areas.

Provisions

Your yacht will be well stocked with essential provisions, including a food hamper, sanitary items and cleaning equipment. For those wanting additional items, there is a large Morrison’s supermarket nearby which sells a variety of goods, including a large selection of produce from the United Kingdom. There will be plenty of opportunities during your voyage to visit shops and markets. The local market in Ceuta is renowned for its fresh fish, which makes an excellent and hearty supper.

Wet weather clothing and safety equipment are provided, as are standard berthing fees, fuel, and freshly laundered bedding. We provide pillows and duvets, so there’s no need to sleep in the confines of a grubby old sleeping bag.

For the children

To keep the kids happy (and possibly the adults too), a charter fun pack is supplied. This includes body boards, beach volley ball, bats and balls, flippers, snorkels, and in case the sea isn’t wet enough already, super soaker water pistols.

On a more educational note, we provide two books for the budding young Yachtmasters of the family. Go Cruising: A Young Crew’s Guide to Sailing and Motor Cruisers by Claudia Myatt, is aimed at those between the ages of seven and twelve years. It covers the essentials required to help young people become interested and valuable members of crew on both sail and power cruising yachts. To accompany this book we supply the RYA Go Cruising Activity Book, also by Claudia Myatt. It’s full of puzzles, quizzes, activities and games to play when on passage or in harbour. It teaches and tests cruising knowledge, and aims to make cruising more fun.

Clothing

Apart from the wet weather clothing we provide, we recommend that you pack some suitable active leisure clothing. This should include lightweight trousers or shorts, T-shirts, a lightweight fleece, and comfortable footwear with non-slip, non-marking soles. You don’t need to spend a fortune on expensive leisure activity clothing, but you may find some of the modern, fast drying, and moisture wicking clothing to be more comfortable and practicable than heavy cotton or wool.
