Week two
Day skipper Theory in our own classroom facility, delivered by the Principal himself—with over five years teaching navigation courses, you will be in great hands. At the end of the week you’ll take the knots and splicing workshop with master splicer Tony.
Weeks three and four
After a week in the classroom you’ll have an exhilarating two weeks on the water, putting your new navigation knowledge to the test. There will be extended tidal sailing along the Spanish coastline, and plenty of exercises. RYA Diesel Engine and RYA Radar courses are also included.
Week five

The benefit of having dedicated classroom facilities is that you have all this space to do extra study after hours. This course is delivered by Dave, Allabroad’s Principal. STCW 95 Personal Survival Techniques and STCW 95 Elementary First Aid, will prepare you for any eventualities on the forthcoming longer passage.
Weeks six and seven
Longer passage making trips along the Portuguese coast to achieve 60 Nm passages as skipper and as crew. This is a tiring yet adventurous two weeks where your skippering skills are honed and complex pilotage mastered. A wonderful welcome back to base at the end of this week where stories of the high seas are swapped with all.
Week eight
Intensive skills and handling. Commercial responsibilities are covered and you take charge of the yacht as though you were a commercial skipper. This week is all about the detail, the performance and handling and lots of close quarter handling exercises. The weekend is a full, and very welcomed weekend free, over half way it is a time to celebrate and recount on how far you’ve come.

Weeks eleven and twelve

This ensures that at whatever time you want to study, you have the space and facilities to do so.
