Competent Crew Sailing Course

 If you are new to yachting or even if you have never been on a boat before then this is your ideal starting point. 
   On the RYA Competent crew course you will be encouraged to take an active part in all aspects of sailing the yacht.
   The Comp Crew course is for beginners and those with a small amount of experience so everything will be explained and demonstrated from the very basics onwards.

Emphasis is on teamwork and a friendly atmosphere and our instructors are trained in making students feel good about what they are doing and how they are doing it.

We offer a day skipper theory online learning course if you would like a head start.
You would receive the charts, a plotter and course notes plus the connection to our on line course.
This means that you would be arriving with prior knowledge and feel better about the course.

This a great chance for you to learn new skills, make new friends and see the sites visiting ports in Morocco and Spain.

Visit three countries and two continents during your course.

If you are an experienced dinghy sailor or have previous sailing experience then you could consider going straight on to the Day Skipper combination course which includes theory and practical over two weeks.  

Motor Cruising Helmsman Course.

This is designed for those with little or no experience. It aims to provide you with the basics of boat handling and safety. On the RYA Motor Cruising Helmsman course you will be expected to join in all of the activities involved with motor cruising.

The course is split into a theory section and a practical session.  The theory covers different types of boats and engines, engine operation and maintenance, safety and collision regs.  The practical session covers proper preparation of the boat handling, berthing, mooring buoys and man overboard procedures.

It is not a test or exam its a course so you will always be learning and enjoying the friendly tuition. It is all about making friends, meeting new people and working together to achieve a common goal.

If you take an additional 1 day of tuition you could take the ICC qualification.

 If you have completed the Day skipper theory we offer a combined Helmsman and Day Skipper Practical course over 5 days.

Patient friendly Instruction.

The courses are not difficult and you can come on your own, as a couple,  or if you can get a group together you could charter the whole boat and enjoy the yacht and the scenery.
All beginners are more than welcome at Allabroad we cater for everyone as if they were a personal friend and quite often that is exactly what they become returning again and again until they achieve their Yachtmaster.
