These include full time accessible training rooms that meet training standards for design, size and technology. You will not be training in an ad hoc hired room or someones apartment or house with Allabroad, you will be in our dedicated facility in the heart of the marina for which you have 24 hour key code access for extra study or relaxation.
Adding the STCW Basic Safety Training course to ensure your Yachtmaster Offshore has a wider acceptance outside of British waters, on a wider range of flagged vessels and gives you a wider variety of employment opportunities including Superyachts for example. Without the STCW endorsment some maritime authorities outside of British waters may not accept your certification for commercial use.
We’ve been running Fast Track sailing courses for 18 years now and this is the expertise that you are buying into. We take our responsibility to you personally and do adapt the training to the group and also your individual changing training needs. Since sometimes exam nerves can get the better of even the strongest of candidates, we offer another exam opportunity to all full event students who have been committed to the course, undertaken the study asked of them, & turned up for class on time.
Time and money investment takes consideration
We do appreciate that committing to this course is an investment in your time, which can never be replaced, however it’s also a big investment in funds too. We’ve always made our course competitive as a package and fully inclusive of all meals & accommodation throughout every day of the course, along with all the training & experience you need to take the final Yachtmaster Offshore exam. We are open and upfront that you will need to bring spending money for your personal entertainment ashore, your laundry, active outdoor clothing & boat shoes. There's also a few digital books & learning aids that are fabulous resources to download and will give you access to beneficial learning resources to help you along the way to your goals. You can pay the exam fees to RYA direct to generate your entry application forms & we recommend that everyone joining this course takes an ENG1 or other country equivalent to ensure they pass the medical requirements to work at sea prior to joining this course, or this can be arranged locally when you join us.
Fast Track Course Schedule:
1800 start on the first Sunday. A full schedule is given at the end of the second week once you have settled into the Academy, this follows our trusted framework of activities mixing between shore-based events, distance sailing and honing fine skills on skills and drills development weeks. You will also learn how to look after a yacht and thus be a true yachtmaster by getting involved in general maintenance, winch servicing, gel coat care & repair, understanding basic electrical fault finding, servicing heads & learning how to splice too. This is a full time course; it is not a walk in the park but it is fun too. You will look back on this adventure and achievement as one of the best things you’ve done, seriously we have had many clients testify to this statement over the last eighteen years since we ran our first ever Fast Track course in 2002. You will have on average a day off per week, sometimes a full free weekend and sometimes you’ll be exploring another country stopping off on route to explore ashore.
