Sea survival certification is required for all commercial seafarers including anyone wishing to have their RYA certification  commercially endorsed. It’s also often required before joining many organised cross ocean rallies, or by local port operators where ships are visited as part of non-seafarer duties

The course covers familiarisation with onboard personal protective equipment and looks at the different types of life rafts used across the industry.

You will learn what action to take prior to abandonment of a vessel and the principals of in-water personal survival techniques.

The afternoon involves abandonment to life raft drills in our outdoor tanked salt water pool. You will wear life jackets and immersion suits and perform in-water drills along with righting and entering a life raft.
