We offer two flexible routes to achieving your Day Skipper qualification. Therefore, you can choose the option that best suits your experience level and preferred way of learning.

1. Day Skipper Practical Course (5 Days)

Course Includes:

• RYA Day Skipper Practical

This Day Skipper Practical course is ideal if you have already completed your Competent Crew training and passed your Day Skipper Theory. In this case, you’ll be ready to focus purely on practical skills.

Course Details:

• Duration: 5 days
• Schedule: Sunday to Friday
• Availability: Year-round

During the course, you’ll apply your knowledge on the water. As a result, you’ll build confidence while mastering essential skippering techniques.

2. Day Skipper Express Course (9 Days)

Course Includes:

• RYA Day Skipper Theory (classroom-based)
• RYA Day Skipper Practical

Alternatively, the Day Skipper Express course is perfect if you’ve completed Competent Crew (or have equivalent experience) but still need to complete your theory.

Course Structure:

• Classroom theory sessions before and after your practical training
• 5 days on the water developing Day Skipper skills
• Intensive, structured learning experience

This means you can complete both theory and practical elements in one course.

Course Details:

• Duration: 9 days
• Schedule: Friday to Sunday (selected dates each month)

In particular, this option suits those who prefer classroom-based learning rather than studying online.

Flexible Learning Options for Day Skipper Theory

If you prefer more flexibility, you can complete your Day Skipper Theory course online first. Then, you can join the 5-day Day Skipper Practical course at a later date.

This approach allows you to progress at your own pace while still working towards your Day Skipper qualificationefficiently.
