Cruising Instructor Sail Course

Achieving your RYA Cruising Instructor Sail enables you to teach RYA Competent Crew & Day Skipper Practical within RYA Training Centres based around the world, with year round opportunities. You must already be an experienced Yachtmaster Offshore with a commercial endorsement and a valid medical certificate to apply to attend this course.  The course is five days long and is delivered by one of our experienced Cruising Instructor Trainers and a second Cruising Instructor Trainer moderates the fifth day to ensure the standards are maintained within  the scheme. At Allabroad we have been delivering high level instructing courses for at least the last 20 years, focusing on advance teaching methods and people skills. The proof is in the pudding with many of our Cruising Instructors going on to become full Yachtmaster Instructors, Yachtmaster Examiners & Cruising Instructor Trainers too.

Previous experience required:

You must already hold your Yachtmaster Offshore Sail and have a Commercial Endorsment and an in date medical. You need to know that you are able to take a commercial position onboard a commercial vessel before you invest in this course. If you do not yet have your Commercial Endorsement but already have an ENG1 or ML5 medical certificate with no restrictions, we can give details on how you apply for the commercial endorsement on your Yachtmaster offshore with the RYA.

What’s Included:

Allabroad's fully comprehensive pre-course study guide to assist you in preparing for the course, this include pre-course reading, the RYA Interactive pre course study & also guidance on preparing mini lessons in advance too. The RYA Cruising Instructor Sail course is a five day course including five nights accommodation onboard our yacht if required. Breakfasts, lunches and two evening meals are included. You will be sailing a 2016 Jeanneau 389 Sailing yacht, have a look inside our yachts There is no requirements to sleep onboard for this course and thus you can choose to take a hotel locally or take a berth onboard for no extra charge.

If you can spare the time why not stay for a further week and join the STCW Basic Safety Training this gives your MCA RYA Yachtmaster Offshore greater acceptability outside of British Waters. All our Instructors hold STCW endorsed certificates as standard.
